Season Finale at Donington

With Ollie Chadwick champion elect, the fight was all about the minor places, plus bragging rights within the GotBoost Racing team. Qualifying in the wet proved too difficult for Jack Minshaw who failed to post a time after spinning off into the gravel trap, Nick Zapolski managed to qualify 6th and Glen Broster 12th.

Race one was going to be difficult for Jack Minshaw starting from the back of a 42-car grid, but Nick Zapolski was in a good position to score championship points. Glen was lining up 2nd in the Am class and wanted to add to his trophy count in the final rounds. At the start, a number of drivers were hit with 10-second penalties for being “out of position at the start” with Zapolski, Wilkinson, Flowers, Constable and Robinson all falling foul of the stewards. This meant Nick was 3rd on the track but 7th overall until he spun on the 5th lap ending his race. Glen Broster moved up to 9th to take the Am Class honours. Jack Minshaw carved through the field to finish a creditable 13th picking up an impressive 27 positions over the course of the race.

Race two completed a disappointing weekend for Zapolski who was starting from the back of the grid; he spun off on lap 7 ending not only his race but his season. Minshaw was suffering from brake problems, which the team tracked down to a lower ball joint after the race. He drove superbly around the problem to finish 10th. Glen Broster was on a charge lapping in 1:48.8 at one stage more than a match for some of the pro drivers. But Ian Robinson won the Am class ahead of Glen who took second place in the Am class.

Race 3 saw Glen Broster return to the podium as Am class winner, Jack Minshaw had an eventful race finishing 16th after recovering from a trip off the circuit.

So next season will bring changes to the driver lineup at GotBoost Racing as Nick & Jack look for new challenges…
